Augustine Infrared

From AVO: “This time lapse video shows hot material, probably hot blocks, ash, and gas, descending the flanks of Augustine. It shows 10 minutes of activity, 75 times faster than real-time. The camera is a low-light visible and thermal infrared digital camera. Images and video clip provided by David Sentman, UAF Geophysical Institute. These images have been colorized. The soundtrack was derived by Celso Reyes (AVO) from the seismic datastream by mapping the normally subaudible seismic signal into the range of human hearing. Note that both the visual and audible parts of this video contain data beyond the range of normal human perception.” Credit: Dave Sentman, Celso Reyes, University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Geophysical Institute, AVO
